The joy of FASD . . .

Okay, well maybe not just FAS, but also Moderately Mentally Handicapped status. I needed to run to Kohl's to look for a toaster and Dustin wanted to go. I told him to run upstairs and grab clothes and hurry. This is what I got, plaid shirt, splotchy shorts, and 2 different colored Crocs. Fab! Needless to say I made him change his shirt, I let him go with the Crocs. I'm a non-conformist.

  1. We are the opposite. I would have let him wear the clothes, but made him change the shoes. It is awesome he can dress himself! We are working on it.

  2. I would have just assumed he was dressed that way because he was male. :-)

Of course having worked in the men's department at a clothing store in my college days probably means I have seen more clothing disasters than most.

  3. Except for the Crocs, his outfit really doesn't look much different than some of what I see the more ironic teens wearing at our little local swim club. Mixing clashing patterns and wearing wrinkled clothes is haute couture right now among some of my younger son's friends. Except they'd wear an old concert tee that they got from a thrift store under the button-down shirt. Other than that, Dustin would fit right in.

  4. LOL. I used to get embarrassed by this. Now I like to look at the bright side. . .in the future, say, puberty years, it will probably serve as birth control where moral compasses fail. ;)
